- Set the BGE up for an indirect cook with the plate setter / conv”egg”to with the feet facing up. Get the BGE dialed into about 300 degrees (drip pan on the plate setter is also recommended).
- Start out by sauteing the mushrooms and onions (or whatever other condiment you many be using. To do this put a little extra virgin olive oil or butter in a sauce pan and add all ingredients until tender.
- For the burgers, start out with a ball of 80/20 meat the size of about a 1/2 pound. Place a beer can on the top and firmly press down and stop just before going all the way through the bottom. Mold the burger around the outside of the beer can and then wrap it with two pieces of bacon.
- Twist the beer can out of the newly created can mold. Fill with all your favorite toppings and in this case includes some Cow Lick Seasoning, Sauteed Mushrooms & Onion and Colby Jack Cheese.
- Place the beer can burgers on the BGE and cook for about 40 minutes (always check the internal temperature of the meat prior to pulling and eating). Enjoy!
