Who does n’t love a McRib Sandwich ? ? ? ? ? not sure why the sandwich is only available a few days a year. I ‘m now kind of glad it is n’t available all the meter because we might not have tried to make this Copycat McRib at home and would n’t have known ;

  1. it’s easy to make ‘
  2. taste amazing (better than the real one!!!!)
  3. I’m sure it has less calories!!!

A Little History about the McRib

McDonald ‘s introduced the McRib in 1981 because there was a chicken deficit ( WHAT ? ! ? ! ). They needed a substitute for the Chicken McNuggets, so, why not a pork barrel sandwich ! ! ! ! It was n’t actually a strike so they pulled it four years later. In the 2000 ‘s they brought it back for a limited-time. So every twilight the McRib is available for a few weeks. Hey, I like the estimate of having a McRib any time ! Bonus, I can pick a capital cut of pork and use my darling BBQ Sauce. As I mentioned, the copycat McRib sandwich is very elementary to make with very few ingredients : pork, BBQ sauce, pickles and onions on a bomber bun. so simple and ohio so effective ! ! ! We like to make extra and leave some in the deep-freeze so we have a very quick sandwich any time we ‘re hungry for this BBQ delectability

What cut of meat is best?

OK the McRib is not actually made with plain ribs, it ‘s made with chopped pork barrel ( yes I know spare ribs are pork barrel ! ! HaHa ). We use nation Ribs or Boneless Pork Chops. They both work great and taste capital !

How to make this mouthwatering McRib

The first gear step to make this copycat McRib sandwich is to grind up the pork. We like to use country ribs : Cut off any large pieces of fatness. The fat does n’t add any spirit only calories. The spirit comes from the pork barrel and the bang-up spices ! then cut the pork barrel into about 1 edge chunks. If we just tossed the entire rib into the food central processing unit it might not grind evenly and we would end up with some larger pieces and some over chop pieces of pork barrel. Add the chopped pork to the food central processing unit with the spices and water. This will create a muggy mix and will make it easy to shape the pork barrel into “ rib looking ” patties. After you add the body of water and spices to the pork barrel, finely chop the pork, spices and water in a food processor. You can use a meat mill, just make certain to very work the spices evenly into the kernel. Divide the pork mix into even portions ( about 4 ounces per part ). Form the pork barrel into a shape like the form and size of the bun you are using. We prefer to use nice delicate bomber buns. But a ground beef bun works bang-up besides. Heck, two slices of boodle would besides be big. Just practice whatever you have in the house .

Shape the Copycat McRib Sandwich

once the pork is shaped in the size you want, take your fingers and press down on the pork so it looks like the shape of sparerib. See the picture below ( this is our version of juke rib ! ! ). I ‘m pretty surely McDonald ‘s has a machine that will shape the pork. only a think on my part, but I do n’t think they ‘re making the McRib by hand form. HaHa plaza the pork barrel on a tray lined with parchment newspaper or hydrofoil. then in the deep-freeze they go ! ! Freeze the patties until they ‘re frozen solid, which should take about two hours. We love to make extra and just keep them in the deep-freeze to have on hand for quick dinners. so, when we ‘re hungry for a sandwich just pull them out of the deep-freeze, bake and BAM dinner is quick in a few minutes with very fiddling attempt ! ! ! If you make extra, once the patties are frozen transfer them to a deep-freeze safe pocket or container .

Cooking the McRib Sandwich

once the McRib sandwich patties are frozen, the rest of building the McRib is in truth simple. Leave the patties on parchment or thwart place the tray in the oven and broil at 325 degrees for about 20 minutes or until done. Make certain the home temperature of the pork is at least 145 degrees. When the patties are done let them cool for a few minutes and dip it into your front-runner sweet and lemony BBQ sauce. Place the rib back in the oven for an extra few minutes to heat the sauce and to have it get decent and BBQ awkward !

Classic McRib Sandwich Toppings!!!!

This could not be easier to build ! ! ! While the McRib is in the oven prepare the toppings. Chop Onion into sparse slices, place the pickles on a plate, and place extra BBQ Sauce in a bowl. I like to heat my buns in the microwave for 15 to 20 seconds. This softens the bun and, I believe, makes the bun indeed much better. Once the Copycat McRib is ready, place them on a home plate and everyone can build their own sandwich .

Build and Enjoy!!!!

home the BBQ McRib on the bed bun. We like to add extra BBQ sauce to the patty so it is dripping in sauce. Top the patty with pickles, sliced onions and then the top of the bun. There are no extra toppings to this sandwich. It is so simpleton to make and so damn delectable ! ! !
